Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is expected to be confirmed by the Senate Judiciary Committee. The Committee is expected to vote on party lines, barring any unforeseen circumstances. Senate Republican and Democratic leaders agree that Jackson is a well-qualified nominee, yet almost all Republican senators are expected to oppose her. So far, Maine Senator Susan Collins is the only Republican who has stated she would support Jackson. If confirmed, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, 51, will be the first Black woman to be a Supreme Court justice.
