A gold robbery suspected was arrested in Florida after law enforcement said he “brazenly robbed” a kiosk at a mall.
According to local law enforcement, the man robbed a gold kiosk at the Treasure Coast Mall in Martin County, snatching thousands of dollars in gold jewelry.
Martin County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations detectives identified 25-year-old Dezmone Johnson, of Broward County, as the thief seen in a video posing as a legitimate customer while looking at several gold chains. He then suddenly grabs the gold and runs.
A second video shows Johnson at a pawn shop selling the stolen jewelry, according to law enforcement.
Detectives worked with the Broward County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force to locate Dezmone Johnson, who was taken into custody and charged with robbery by sudden snatching.
The total loss exceeded $22,000.
“Johnson can now add robbery to his extensive criminal history,” the Martin County Sheriff’s Office posted.
