Peace talks between Ukraine and Russia while attacks continue

Peace talks continue between Ukrainian and Russian leaders, despite Ukraine’s recent accusations of Russian war crimes and genocide. Ukraine has launched a war crimes investigation after stating bodies of civilians were found in the city of Burcha and Irpin, near the country’s capital city, Kyiv. Although Russian forces have continued their attacks on Ukrainian cities, the Kremlin’s foreign ministry described photos and videos of deceased civilians and mass graves as a “staged performance” intended to disrupt peace talks. Leaders from around the world have condemned the killings and called for independent investigations.
